CYCLING PROGRAM

The South West Academy of Sport Cycling Program, proudly supported by Royal Bikes, is part of the developmental pathway for the best cycling athletes in South West Victoria.

Program Structure

SWAS athletes receive ten supervised on-road group sessions throughout the year, with additional individual training programs available as fee-for-service with head coach Kerry King.  

​

Duration

The supervised on-road group sessions will leave from Warrnambool unless otherwise noted, and will run throughout the year (approximately every 5 weeks).

Inclusions

-  10 supervised on-road group sessions  (14/4, 12/5, 9/6, 7/7, 4/8, 8/9, 6/10, 10/11, 9/2/25, 2/3/25)*

-  SWAS Training Tee

-  At home or in gym programming  (Please note that SWAS does not provide a trainer or access to a gym) 

-  Online Member Portal with access to athlete education and training resources.

Exclusions

-  SWAS merchandise  (hoodies, caps etc)

-  Individual training plans (available as fee-for service)

Selection Criteria

All riders need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Be a member of an AusCycling affiliated club in the South West

  • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

  • Are racing in the Victorian Junior Road Series or have reached a satisfactory standard of performance based on current rankings at local races and regional events.

  • A desire to progress further along the junior pathway and eventually progress their own cycling and/or progress to the development team.
